Theatre Organ Heritage Centre and Museum - Closure

After 20 years of presenting concerts and events at the Heritage Centre and Museum 

featuring the Wurlitzer and Compton Theatre Organs, the venue will be permanently  closed from the 5th July 2026.

The Trustees would like to place on record their appreciation and thanks to all the Officers and Volunteers who, 

over the last 20 years, had the foresight to achieve the long held wish of The Lancastrian Theatre Organ Trust

 to have its own headquarters and installed Theatre Organs.

Stockport Wurlitzer Update

Due to  water ingress into the Main Pipe Chamber of the Wurlitzer Organ in Stockport Town Hall in the last year, Concerts and Events in the ballroom have been cancelled until repairs have been completed

Update

With the co-operation and support of Stockport MBC, extensive work has now 

commenced on repairing the roof above the organ chamber.

This will take us into the beginning of 2027.

On completion of this work, which includes repairing the plasterwork inside the chamber, 

work will then start on repairing the damaged organ components caused by water ingress
