The Gaumont/Granada 4/14 Wurlitzer - Sold! After many years trying to source a suitable venue for the ex Gaumont/Granada 4/14 Wurlitzer and taking into account the ongoing costs for storage and insurance, the Trustees, feeling that this could be quite an emotive subject, have asked the membership of the Trust to decide the future of this instrument. Their decision has been an overwhelming - Sell. The Wurlitzer has been sold to Mr Ben Snowdon for installation at Folly Farm, Tenby. Construction will commence on chambers to house the Wurlitzer in September 2008, with the organ being completely installed in readiness for the start of the season in 2009. I am sure that we wish Folly Farm good fortune in being the new proud owner of such a magnificent instrument, it is a unique opportunity for the general public, along with Theatre Organ followers to experience the majestic sounds of a Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organ, and who knows they may just come on board as members of the Trust. It is anticipated that the Wurlitzer will be heard by 450,000 visitors to Folly Farm each year. |

Following a request from the Blue Coat School. Oldham and after 25 years in situ the management of the school have requested it's removal. The two consoles were removed week beginning 11th August 2008 and placed in storage pending discussions on it's future.
